Early Childhood Autism (ECA/ECM)

About ECA/ECASH

Early Childhood Autism Specialized Habilitation (ECASH) also known as ECA or ECM, is based on the model of Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) which is a type of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focussed on children under five years of age. ECA is a multi-component service that includes both habilitation and ongoing professional consultations which include adaptive skills and behavioral assessments. Program supervisors are Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who develop treatment plans, write goals, and train parents and habilitation providers on treatment plan implementation.

How does EIBI work?

EIBI uses the principles of ABA to increase positive and useful behaviors and decrease unwanted behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, and self-injury. It is a highly structured approach to be implemented for teaching children under the age of five or six in various settings.

Who can receive ECA services?

ECA is for children diagnosed with autism or at-risk of autism under the ages of 5 or 6.  Some children begin receiving services at age 2 or earlier.

How can my child begin receiving ECA/ECASH services?

Simply inform your support coordinator to ensure you meet the requirements for ECA services. Contact us directly at services@abaconsultinggroup.org for all inquiries or to set up a phone appointment.
